Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Player Accidentally Exposes Hacks on Stream

Most players are simply not good enough to play video games at a professional level, but one Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War player did not let this stop him. Using hacks to make himself look better, the wannabe pro was caught cheating in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

Call of Duty has had no shortage of cheaters as of late, as January was a particularly bad month for the franchise’s hacking problem. While Call of Duty: Warzone’s cheating has been the most severe, some of its issues have bled over to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War as well. Gameplay from yyyunggg’s stream shows this, and while players could tell something was off by the way that he was playing, an attempt by yyyunggg to prove his innocence went terribly wrong.

Esports commentator Bricey spotlighted the issue in a Twitter post, explaining the events alongside a clip of the hacker being caught. Able to see through walls and using an aimbot, the player’s cheating is severe, and seeing the Call of Duty cheater getting busted is as satisfying as it gets. The clip in question shows two versions of the game playing, with the larger view showcasing what viewers are seeing on-stream. The smaller video shows what is actually happening in-game, as this is the one the cheater is watching.

In the smaller window, two players can be seen through a wall on the map Garrison, with an outline of where they are positioned alongside a health bar indicating how many shots it will take to kill them. Clipped by several viewers, the moment was as damning as it can get for someone trying to deny that they are using cheats. While pulling up his folder of active programs to clear his name, yyyunggg must have pressed a button accidentally, showing the viewers all his hacks in action.

Aside from Call of Duty League player Parasite getting a laugh out of the post, the cheating becoming so widespread has led to the hopeful pro player yyyunggg deleting traces of his online presence. Both his Twitter account and the archives of his past streams have been deleted, with the player clearly ashamed of his actions. With other pro players like Zer0 claiming to have seen yyyunggg in-game, checking theater mode to confirm he was a cheater, it seems like the pro community has been waiting for the player to be exposed for some time.

It remains to be seen if yyyunggg will address the issues, or if he will even try streaming the game again. With other streamers caught hacking in the past, though, this cheater is hardly the first victim of an accidental click.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/X.
